June 1 - Come, Holy Spirit

“Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven?
This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven,
will come in the same way as you saw Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11)

Today we celebrate the Ascension of our Lord, trusting that “where He has gone before in glory, we are called to follow in hope”! In the 40-odd days since Easter, part of the novitiate sisters’ Paschal joy has been working outdoors to plant this year’s vegetable and flower garden (peas, dahlias, corn, potatoes and more). They also set out the hummingbird feeder for some hungry customers, and went for a day hike further up the valley to see some epic views of waterfalls and the Squamish river.

We will be on retreat this week in preparation for Pentecost. Please join us in praying for the Lord to send forth His Spirit, into our hearts and into our world.

“May the God of hope
fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him,
so that you may overflow with hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit. “ (Rm 15:13)
